Three Porsches in a day.....

I was driving the v6 to the airport on Sunday, keeping an eye on the speedometer to make sure I was below the legal speed limit when suddenly..... whoooooshhh..... a black-coloured Porsche 911 GT3 came and passed me out of nowhere.... funny thing is, there was no plate number on the rear.... hmm, must be on the way to the Sepang F1 track then, as they are having the MME practice on the same day.........

Went up to the carpark at KLIA, and guess what did I saw there? Another Porsche, this time it was a silver-coloured Boxster.... hmmm, I must be lucky today! Two Porsches in a row within 30 mins in Malaysia? What are the odds on that?

God must be teasing me....... 1 hour later, on my drive back from KLIA, another Porsche 911 GT3, this time silver in colour, zooms by...... man, that was really something......like, three bloody Porsches in a row within 2 hours? Wow!

Surveys......what an annoyance!

Any hope of a nice rest for me last nite was dashed when the house phone rings..... it was a call from one of these mushrooming survey companies..... this time about fast-food consumption habit. I thought that this time it would be short, just like one of those surveys done by Maxis...... but horror upon horrors, she must have asked a hundred questions to me yesterday! Hmm, I wonder how much are they getting paid to harass folks like this (and probably getting some rude replies as well)? Not to mention running out of breath while asking these long-winded questions.......

But the survey topic was quite interesting.......a side-effect of taking this survey is, I realised that I have been frequenting too many fast-food joints lately......hmmm.... time to change my eating habits :)

When Disappointment and Elation Clashes.....

Quite an eventful weekend for me, I must say....... first of all, I had to miss the AF phenomenon on Saturday nite due to a dinner function...... ultimately Zahid won, which he deserves....... but unfortunately the dinner was disappointing..... let's just say that most of the attendees were promised something (some promises even dated way back in 2000!), but nothing came out of it..... on the flipside, hey, what's new anyway? Empty promises are quite abound, spewed from the organisers' side (and it's kinda well-known).....

Michael Schumacher won again (12 out of 13 races) in Hungaroring and together with Rubens, they managed to clinch the constructors' trophy for 2004. Our locally-sponsored team, Sauber didn't do too bad as well, considering that Fisichella finished 8th, well ahead of Coulthard's McLaren..... go Sauber! Poor Kimi retired again due to engine cut-off failure......too bad for him.

Oh well, new week looms.....let's make the best out of it, shall we? :)

Of weekend and kiasu people.....

My weekend was perfect! Spent it together with my wife and son, both of whom I have not seen for 3 weeks due to work..... finally bought my wife the Motorola V300. She's one happy lady now.... :)

And my son kept on clinging to me, even when I wanted to visit the loo....... I guess he just misses me too much...... had a great time play-fighting with him the whole time..... *sigh*..... I'm back to work now..... too bad huh?

Had to drive to KL centre to send my mum this morning. She's going away for a trip to Malacca for a few days....... guess it's up to me to accompany my dad then..... man, the traffic was murder! How on earth did you guys drive to work every day like this? One morning was enough to drive my blood pressure up! I mean, some of these drivers are so 'kiasu', they just refuse to give way even for an ambulance with sirens blaring! People, just imagine that it's someone you cared about in that ambulance...... would you move aside for the vehicle to pass unimpeded then?

Coffee (in my case, Tea) Break

Finally, Volume 1 is history!!!!

Got an article forwarded to me by a friend..... thot I'd share it with everyone.....as for me, time to take care of one of my "golf balls"..... :)

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was. The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else.

He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous "yes". The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

"Now", said the professor, as the laughter subsided, " I want you to recongnize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things, your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passion things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full."
"The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, your car. The sand is every thing else, the small stuff."

"If you put the sand into the jar first", he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18 holes. There will always be time to clean the house, and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smilled. " I'm glad you asked", he said. " It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a cup of coffee with a friend."

Thank God It's Friday.....

Finally, the weekend is crouching near....... and tomorrow I'm going away for a nice rest with my wife and son...... why can't weekends be longer that weekdays huh?

As for today, well I have to finish Vol 1 of 3 for a report that I'm trying hard to understand..... man, three bloody thick volumes!!! Trust me, if someone throws one of these towards your head, you'll definitely get a concussion. I'm having a headache just trying to read it......

Oh yeah, been looking around for a suitable mobile phone to buy as a gift for my wife...... I'm kinda interested in the Motorola V600, with Bluetooth and all...... well, let's see what happens this weekend then :)

A rare specimen

Today, I saw with my very own eyes the rarest Ferrari ever made in the whole history of the Prancing Horse........ the Enzo!!! I had the chance to run my hands over its smooth fiery red exterior, marvelling at the Pirelli shod 19-inch rims, looking through the fibreglass back of the car and witnessing the magnificent V12 engine....... words cannot do justice to this magnificent car of this era.....

I suggest you go and visit the Naza HQ at Kg Baru to experience it yourself!!!

And the story begins.....

It was a clear and quiet nite on which this blog was started, and I've got a writer's bloc..... funny how you've always wanted to do something like this before and yet, when the time comes, you are at a loss.....

Earlier on the day, I had a meeting somewhere in KL, which was quite productive to say the least. Stopped by at Starbucks downstairs to grab my weekly dose of caramel frappucino and a stroganoff pie..... ah, brings back sweet memories when I was in London enjoying this drink with my (then) girlfriend......

Oops, got to cut my musings short, need to pack my bags for an overseas trip this weekend..... can't wait for it :)
